How to spot me at a session?

I suppose I could’ve put a proper headshot here, but you’d be unlikely to recognize me with my hair done and makeup on. 😂

Hey there.

I’m Deanna — award-winning family portrait photographer and industry educator. I’ve been photographing families, babies, children, seniors and pets in the Raleigh area since 2013.

I have three kids of my own, and three step children, ages 2 to 11… and four cats, a 3 dogs and 2 hermit crabs. By the time I finish writing this paragraph, we may have a duck or a lizard or a goat to add to our ever-growing little zoo.

Life is chaotic and beautiful.

Freezing perfect poses and all the silly in-between moments is the absolute best part of this memory making business. My style is colorful, sharp and classic. I opt out of fleeting editing trends in exchange for timeless, heirloom styles that will remain relevant and lovely through the years.

Quick facts:

• I’m from Long Island, NY.

• I moved to NC for college in 2006 and instantly felt home.

• I love cats and babies and plants.

• I am mom to three, and bonus mom to three. Our life is part Brady Bunch, part circus.

• I am a recovering perfectionist. Still iffy on the recovery part.

• Working and collaborating with other local small businesses is incredibly important to me.

• I donate my time to photographing premature babies in local NICUs, and families with children suffering with terminal illnesses. As long as I live, those sessions will be the most impactful and powerful moments in my career.
